Diary of author Allyson James
My alter-ego Jennifer Ashley is thrilled that her first paranormal, Immortals: The Calling made the USA Today bestseller list. She's stunned and elated all at the same time.
Meanwhile Allyson James continues to work. I sold a werewolf novella to Ellora's Cave, which should be coming down the pipeline soon, plus I'm still working on the Tarot book and Calder's book (in the Shareem series). My goal is to have everything finished up by the end of the month, because that Jennifer Ashley has more books to write, and she's biting at my heels to hurry up. She's so full of herself--an RT award winner, a RITA nominee, and now a USA Today bestseller. (She so needs to get back in her cage.
Speaking of the RITA I'm a little put off by some of RWA's proposed changes to the contest. I haven't articulated all my objections in a letter yet--still mulling. Their refusal to include an erotica category is annoying (because an erotic romance is not simply a romance with more sex--it's a different animal altogether), but there were some other strange alterations as well. I will mull, then write.
Meanwhile, enjoy the Immortals series and the Shareem, and of course, I love the dragon video! See it at www.myspace.com/allysonjamesauthor if you haven't given it a peek already. It's also at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckgbz080IvM
Luv,
Allyson
